Mount Waverley Secondary College is seeking an Education Support Class position focused on facilities and maintenance. The role supports the Facilities Manager in keeping buildings and grounds in excellent condition across two campuses, with tasks ranging from routine upkeep to coordinating safety procedures and minor repairs.

The successful candidate will have practical maintenance skills, strong problem-solving ability, and good communication to work with staff and students.

Qualifications

• Maintain buildings and follow procedures, OHS practices and protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate to a wide range of people in a school environment and maintain confidentiality.
• Use initiative to investigate, prioritise, take action, and address maintenance problems as directed.
• possess technical knowledge and proficiency in the use of tools and equipment relevant to the role.
• Experience in facilities and grounds maintenance.

Responsabilités

• Provide assistance to the Facilities Manager in improving, maintaining, and caring for school facilities, buildings and grounds including meeting OH&S requirements.
• Monitor maintenance star system and prioritise jobs.
• Inspect school buildings and grounds daily to ensure order.
• Ensure grounds are kept clean and tidy.
• Maintain cleanliness of external areas including paths and hard surfaces.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment as required.
• Assist in ensuring classrooms and furniture are in order.
• Identify requirements and use a variety of tools to perform maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Remove graffiti.
• Paint as required.
• Maintain tools and maintenance/grounds equipment.
• Assist in maintaining Arts and Design & Technology equipment and machinery to meet DE OH&S requirements.
• Perform general maintenance duties as directed.
• Undertake other duties as required.
