Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a qualified school counsellor to provide counselling and psychological assessments for students at Dubbo College South Campus. The role involves collaborating with teachers, families and external agencies to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Regular supervision and a commitment to ongoing professional development are expected. The position is part of the School Counselling Service within a supportive multidisciplinary team, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Collaboration with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment to students to support wellbeing and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and external agencies to plan student support.
• Engage in supervision and professional development within a multidisciplinary team.
• Travel between school worksites as required and maintain professional practice standards.
