Job summary

NSW Department of Education seeks a school counsellor based at Moree Secondary College Albert Street Campus to deliver counselling and psychological assessments supporting student wellbeing. You will work across primary and high school aged students within a supportive district team.

The role offers opportunities for professional supervision, ongoing professional learning and collaboration with school communities, including engagement with families and external partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes across diverse student groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies within a multidisciplinary team.
