Job summary

EREA Flexible Schools Ltd is seeking a Canteen Coordinator to manage the delivery of nutritious, safe, and high-quality food services for Young People. You will oversee menu planning, food prep, and safety compliance, while maintaining stock control and budgeting.

The role requires a current Working with Children Check, relevant commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent experience, and a Driver Licence for occasional transport duties.

Qualifications

• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is required.
• Commercial cookery or related qualification or demonstrated experience.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain.
• First Aid certificate or ability to obtain.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in food preparation, kitchen operations and safety compliance.
• Experience in menu planning, stock control and purchasing processes.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and inventory.
• Ability to work independently and handle competing priorities.
• Ability to engage positively with vulnerable Young People.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of nutritious, safe, high-quality food services for Young People.
• Oversee menu planning, food preparation, storage and service.
• Monitor food safety compliance, stock control and budgeting.
• Foster partnerships and learning opportunities around food in education.
• Collaborate with campus staff to maintain an inclusive, trauma-informed service.
