Job summary

Logan City Special School—Charles Avenue Campus in Logan Central, QLD, seeks a School-Based Social Worker to support student wellbeing through individual and group interventions. You will partner with families and collaborate with school staff to identify needs and connect families to services.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive and strengths-based practice within a multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Holds qualifications in Social Work and is eligible for AASW membership.
• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Understands trauma-informed, culturally responsive and strengths-based practice.
• Committed to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group interventions to support student wellbeing.
• Partner with families to strengthen engagement and access to support services.
• Work collaboratively with school staff to identify and respond to student needs.
• Facilitate referrals and connections to community agencies and external supports.
• Contribute to case management, consultation and wellbeing planning.
• Promote positive outcomes through early intervention and prevention strategies.
