Job summary

Merri River School in Warrnambool seeks a registered Occupational Therapist to lead and deliver school-based OT services. The role supports students with intellectual disability through coordinated, multidisciplinary care and adaptive strategies within the school environment.

You will work with teachers, therapists and families to design and monitor individual education plans and ensure safe, inclusive participation in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with registration eligibility in Australia (Ahpra).
• Experience or capacity to coach education support staff in a school setting.
• Ability to work within a Multidisciplinary Team and school frameworks.
• Strong oral and written communication with staff, students and families.
• Provide high level advisory and governance support to school leadership.

Responsibilities

• Complete appropriate functional and occupational therapy assessments and screenings.
• Deliver individual, small-group and classroom OT interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, education support staff and other allied health professionals.
• Contribute OT goals and progress to IEPs, SSGs and multidisciplinary planning.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to policies and safeguarding procedures.
