Job summary

Queensland Government is hiring school-based mental health clinicians to support students’ wellbeing across Metropolitan North Region. Appointments span PO2/PO3 Social Worker roles with potential for full-time or part-time arrangements.

You will assess student needs, deliver interventions, and work with school staff to plan supports, while coordinating external referrals and family guidance. Flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work with AASW eligibility.
• Experience in school-based mental health or youth services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' mental health needs to guide interventions.
• Deliver individual and group mental health support.
• Collaborate with school leaders and student support teams.
• Develop referrals and case management processes.
• Coordinate external referrals and services.
• Support families and respond to emergencies as part of the response team.
