Job summary

Queensland Department of Education is seeking HP3 Psychologists to support primary and secondary state schools in the Metropolitan North Region. These temporary, school-based roles focus on mild to moderate mental health concerns, delivering counselling, assessment and intervention within established student support teams.

Qualifications

• Counselling, assessment and intervention focus for students' mental health.
• Autonomy to work within school and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication with students, families and school staff.
• Professional development and supervision for AHPRA requirements (pro-rata).

Responsibilities

• Undertake individual and group counselling with students and families to address mental health concerns.
• Administer psycho-educational assessments for learning and adjustment difficulties.
• Coordinate referrals and planning with health, welfare and community partners.
• Coordinate or contribute to professional in-service training for teachers and parents.
• Maintain data collection and confidential records per department procedures.
• Collaborate with school leadership to inform student support planning.
