Job summary

MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees is partnering with Anglo American to offer a School Based Electrical Apprenticeship at Aquila Mine, 32km south of Middlemount, Queensland. The program starts in 2027 and leads toward UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, while you study one day per week and gain hands-on mine experience.

You must be enrolled in Year 10 for 2027, reside in Middlemount, and be passionate about electrical work with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Currently attending school and aiming to pursue electrical trades.
• Enrolled in Year 10 with plans to start Year 11 in 2027.
• Willing to undertake a school-based apprenticeship at Aquila Mine.
• Prepared to obtain required health and mine safety checks.

Responsibilities

• Learn to install, service, maintain, repair, isolate, test and commission electrical systems.
• Work with advanced electrical equipment in a mining environment under supervision.
• Follow safety practices and develop practical trade skills while studying.
