Job summary

Rio Tinto in the Pilbara region is seeking a Weekly Scheduler for the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team to deliver well-planned weekly maintenance schedules for large-scale mobile earthmoving equipment. You will report to the Superintendent Planning and Engineering and develop executable plans balancing safety, cost, quality, and resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain executable weekly schedules using data, resources and strategies.
• Review labour, equipment and material availability to optimise sequence.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and leaders to align resources and critical paths.
• Monitor schedule loading, utilisation and progress, identify constraints and improve plans.
• Reschedule deferred work and maintain schedule accuracy through governance.
• Manage schedule loss events and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Analyse data to improve shutdown planning and scheduling outcomes.
• Support contractor close-out activities including invoicing and admin.

About the role

We are looking for a Weekly Scheduler to help the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team deliver well-planned and executable weekly maintenance schedules for large-scale mobile earthmoving fleet. Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Engineering, you will develop optimised schedules that balance safety, cost, quality and resource requirements while supporting reliable asset performance. What you’ll be doing

• Develop and maintain executable weekly schedules using work management data, resource availability and asset maintenance strategies.
• Review labour, equipment and material availability to optimise work sequence and minimise execution risk.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, warehouse teams and execution leaders to align resources and critical path activities.
• Monitor schedule loading, utilisation and progress, identifying constraints and implementing schedule improvements.
• Reschedule deferred work and maintain schedule accuracy through robust governance processes.
• Manage schedule loss events, update business systems and communicate impacts to key stakeholders.
• Analyse work management data and identify opportunities to improve shutdown planning and scheduling outcomes.
• Support contractor close-out activities, including invoicing and administration requirements associated with shutdown execution.

About you

Required for Success

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within mining, utilities, manufacturing or another heavy industrial environment.
• Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work management processes.
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools to analyse and manage maintenance work.
• Experience coordinating resources, materials and stakeholders to deliver maintenance or shutdown activities.
• The ability to interpret maintenance strategies, critical paths and schedule dependencies to create executable work plans.

Helpful for Success

• Experience supporting large-scale shutdowns in fixed plant or mobile equipment environments.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Mechanical trade, technical qualification or equivalent practical maintenance experience.
