Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd in the Toowoomba region seeks a detail-driven Scheduler to join our Services Support Team in a permanent, full-time role (Monday–Friday).

You’ll build and maintain accurate project schedules, track progress, and identify risks early across equipment rebuilds and service programs, partnering with Project Owners, Supervisors and operations to improve planning discipline and predictable delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience planning/scheduling in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
  • Strong MS Project / Project Online skills.
  • Knowledge of rebuilds/equipment assembly (desirable).
  • Ability to communicate, navigate and influence across different stakeholder groups.
  • Continuous improvement mindset & proactive communication style.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery excellence – drive on-time, in-full outcomes through schedules.
  • Plan with precision – balance demand, labour, parts and capacity.
  • Be the SME – uplift scheduling capability across the business.
  • Support branches with scheduling and reduce reactive work.

Are you a detail-driven professional who thrives on keeping projects on track? Hastings Deering is seeking an experienced Scheduler to join our Services Support Team in a permanent, full-time role (Monday–Friday).

You’ll work closely with Project Owners, Supervisors, and Operational stakeholders to build and maintain accurate schedules, track progress, and identify risks early across Hastings Deering equipment (e.g., Machine Rebuilds, Planned Component Rebuild programs, and more).

Beyond individual projects, you’ll work closely with operational teams to embed practical best practice scheduling, helping improve how work flows, strengthening planning discipline and enabling more predictable delivery across the business.

What You'll Deliver On:
  • Own delivery excellence – Drive On Time, In Full outcomes through smart, execution-ready service schedules.
  • Plan with precision – Balance demand, labour, parts and workshop capacity to build practical, high-impact schedules.
  • Be the SME – Act as the Planning & Scheduling subject matter expert, uplifting capability and consistency across the business.
  • Support branch performance – Provide scheduling support to branches without dedicated schedulers, embedding structure and reducing reactive work.
  • Coordinate the engine room – Manage scheduling across Equipment Assembly, Rebuilds and key service teams.
  • Set jobs up for success – Ensure work is execution ready by aligning schedules with parts availability, capacity and operational priorities.
  • Shape best practice – Contribute to enterprise wide planning initiatives and standardise scalable scheduling processes.
  • Unlock efficiency – Identify bottlenecks, optimise workflows and keep work moving across the value chain.
  • Boost performance – Partner with leaders to improve utilisation, productivity, turnaround times and delivery confidence.
  • Turn data into action – Use Power BI insights and schedule reporting to enable proactive, informed decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement – Build scalable scheduling processes that grow with the organisation
About You

You’re motivated, organised, and confident in managing project schedules. Ideally you’ll bring:

  • Experience planning/scheduling in mining, construction, or heavy industry
  • Strong MS Project / Project Online skills
  • Knowledge of rebuilds/equipment assembly (desirable)
  • Ability to communicate, navigate and influence across different stakeholder groups
  • A continuous improvement mindset & proactive communication style
