Job summary

Financial Accountant (Maternity Leave Contract) at SunRice in Sydney is a key role supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and governance across the balance sheet. You will partner with stakeholders, manage reconciliations, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

The position offers exposure to ERP systems and collaboration across finance and operations, with a focus on delivering accurate reporting and supporting system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualification or close to completion.
• Experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and compliance.
• Experience with grants/asset accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary.
• Assist with external audits and internal controls.
