Job summary

SunRice is seeking a motivated Financial Accountant for a maternity leave contract in Sydney. You will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting, and partnerships with stakeholders across the business.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Commerce/Finance, CPA/CA status or progress, 3–5 years of financial accounting experience, and strong SAP and Excel capabilities to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualified, or working towards qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset accounting and project-related accounting records.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
