Job summary

SunRice is seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a maternity leave contract up to September 2027. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and month-end close activities, collaborating with stakeholders across the business.

You will work with the General Accounting team on reconciliations, financial reporting, and process improvements, ensuring SAP-based processes are executed efficiently and aligned with standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualified, or working towards.
• 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end processes.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• SAP experience is essential.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset accounting and project-related accounting records.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team for a Maternity Leave Contract up to Sept 2027. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Accounting team and provide support across balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

About You

You will ideally have:
