Job summary

SunRice is seeking a meticulous Financial Accountant for a Maternity Leave Contract in Sydney. You will support month-end close, ensure accurate financial reporting, and partner with stakeholders to maintain strong controls.

The role requires SAP experience and advanced Excel skills, with CPA/CA qualifications or progress strongly preferred. You will contribute to continuous process improvements, assist with audits, and help deliver timely, compliant financial statements across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience with month-end close and general ledger processes.
• Experience in financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and reclassifications.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset accounting.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
