Job summary

MP Biomedicals Australasia is seeking a Sales Executive to drive growth across NSW, ACT, and Queensland, promoting our molecular biology, cell biology and biochemicals range to research institutes, universities and biotech/biopharma companies.

You will report to the Country Manager and be supported by local and global teams. We value teamwork, resilience and the ability to work autonomously while travelling extensively within the territory.

Qualifications

• BSc in biology is required; PhD in molecular biology/related field is highly regarded.
• At least 2 years' sales experience or research lab experience.
• Knowledge of NSW/ACT/QLD biotech workflows and sector dynamics.
• Hold a current driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with researchers, procurement and lab teams across NSW, ACT and QLD.
• Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, demos, quotes, tender responses, negotiation and closing.
• Defend and grow key accounts against competitors.
• Run product demos, equipment installations and customer training.
• Territory and account planning, CRM discipline, and regular forecasting.

Job description

As a Sales Executive, you will drive growth across NSW, ACT and Queensland, promoting our molecular biology, cell biology and biochemicals range into research institutes, universities and biotech/biopharma companies. You will report to the Country Manager and be backed by customer service, marketing, quality and warehouse teams locally, plus sales and marketing support out of the US, Singapore and China.

Key responsibilities

• Build relationships with research group leaders, procurement and production managers, KOLs and lab teams across your territory
• Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, product demonstrations, quoting, tender responses, negotiation and closing opportunities
• Defend and grow key accounts against competitor activity
• Run product demos, equipment installations and customer training
• Territory and account planning, CRM discipline, and regular forecasting

About you

• BSc (biology discipline) minimum — PhD in molecular biology, microbiology, chemistry or a related field is highly regarded
• At least 2 years' sales experience, and/or research lab experience
• Genuine attitude to help resolve customer needs and satisfaction
• Knowledge in understanding workflows of the biotech/biopharma or life sciences research sector in NSW/ACT/QLD
• Team player, tenacious, resilient, self-directed — comfortable working autonomously
• Current driver's license and reliable vehicle; able to lift 20kg
• Willing to travel extensively to maximise sales in the entire territory
• Authorised to work in Australia
