Job summary

Hindmarsh is seeking an SQE Supervisor to drive safety, quality, and environmental excellence on major Canberra region projects. You will support site teams and subcontractors to meet SQEMS requirements and project standards.

You will implement on-site SQEMS, conduct inspections, audits and inductions, and assist with incident investigations and continuous improvement. A Certificate IV in WHS and 5+ years of WHS experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of WHS experience within construction or related high-risk industries.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards and construction industry requirements.
• Experience using safety management software systems and MS Office 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and monitoring Hindmarsh's SQEMS on site.
• Identifying, assessing and controlling site-based SQE risks and hazards.
• Reviewing subcontractor SQE documentation, SWMS and compliance requirements.
• Conducting site inspections, audits, inductions and safety meetings.
• Supporting incident investigations, reporting, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

SQE Supervisors at Hindmarsh are responsible for supporting site teams and subcontractors to achieve outstanding safety, quality and environmental outcomes while ensuring compliance with company systems, legislation and project requirements.

In this role you will be working with our highly experienced data centre team, contributing to major projects in the Canberra region that deliver lasting impact.

Reporting to the Project Manager and supported by the State SQE Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Implementing and monitoring Hindmarsh's Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System (SQEMS) on site
• Identifying, assessing and controlling site-based SQE risks and hazards
• Reviewing subcontractor SQE documentation, SWMS and compliance requirements
• Conducting site inspections, audits, inductions and safety meetings
• Supporting incident investigations, reporting, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives

We are looking for team members who have:

• 5+ years' experience in WHS within the construction industry or a related high-risk industry
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or a related qualification at Certificate IV level or above
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards and construction industry requirements
• Experience using safety management and construction software systems, as well as Microsoft Office 365 applications
