Job summary

Redpath Partners in Sydney is seeking a Safety, Quality and Environmental Supervisor to join our project team on a major construction initiative up to $300m. You will drive SQE outcomes across the site, supported by the project team and a seasoned SQE Manager.

The role focuses on implementing the Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System, leading inspections, audits and inductions, and collaborating with subcontractors to meet legislative and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years WHS experience in construction or high-risk industries.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and standards.
• Experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to safety, quality and environmental management; experience with safety software.

Responsibilities

• Implement the project’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
• Identify, assess and control site-based SQE risks and hazards.
• Review subcontractor SQE documentation, SWMS and compliance requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, inductions and safety meetings.
• Support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and environmental outcomes.
• Work with site teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and legislation.

Job description

We are currently working with a well-established T2 head contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Safety, Quality and Environmental Supervisor to join their Sydney team.

This is a great opportunity to work on a major projects up to $300m with an experienced team, with strong career development and the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile construction project.

Project sectors: Health, Aged Care, Commercial and Residential

As an SQE Supervisor, you will work closely with the project team and subcontractors to drive outstanding Safety, Quality and Environmental outcomes across the project.

Reporting to the Project Manager and supported by an experienced State SQE Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Implementing and monitoring the project’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System
• Identifying, assessing and controlling site-based SQE risks and hazards
• Reviewing subcontractor SQE documentation, SWMS and compliance requirements
• Conducting site inspections, audits, inductions and safety meetings
• Supporting incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
• Driving continuous improvement across safety, quality and environmental outcomes
• Working closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and legislation

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in WHS within the construction industry or another high-risk industry
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or a related qualification at Certificate IV level or above
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, standards and construction requirements
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
