Job description

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Sr HSE Advisor will provide health and safety support across various teams to support the implementation of our Health, Safety, Environment Management System (HSEMS). The role will promote safety in design and planning, management of risks and foster a strong safety culture across the organisation. While working hours will be in the Brisbane, QLD, Australia office during standard business hours, this role may require occasional evenings and weekends, as well as site visits and on call responsibilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Contractor management including pre-mobilisation, HSE bridging, and compliance;
• Assisting with the development of and maintaining HSEMS documentation and risk registers;
• Analyse health, safety and environmental performance data, trends, and lead indicators to provide insights and drive improved operational performance;
• Support the site team and Field HSE Advisors with day-to-day safety and compliance matters;
• Support and lead incident management process;
• Support external regulatory audits where required;
• Deliver training programs to educate employees on health and safety practices and compliance and risk management;
• Assist with the development and ongoing management of internal audit and compliance programs;
• Develop health and safety initiatives; and
• Assist with other related assignments as requested.

Expected Qualifications

• Minimum 7 yrs experience in a HSE role within the resources sector (oil and gas preferred)
• University diploma in WHS or related area strongly preferred
• Ability to pass medical (for remote work) and drug & alcohol screening
• Current C class driver's licence
• Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card)
• Current First Aid & CPR
• ICAM investigation trained
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legislation
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships, coach teams, and influence safe behaviours
• Committed to safety, problem solving and working as part of a small team
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Power BI is desirable
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends (on call basis), travel to the field (Northern Territory) and other Tamboran office locations as needed; approximately 20%.
