Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Geelong VIC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Safety and Assurance Manager in coordinating Occupational Health and Safety across Corrections Victoria, including implementing actions under A Safer Place to Work.

You will work with staff and external partners to promote safety, address hazards, develop and deliver safety management initiatives, and contribute to a safer workplace across Barwon Prison.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert in occupational health and safety management systems.
• Experience coordinating diverse stakeholder groups to deliver safe outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, codes of practice and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Safety and Assurance Manager to coordinate and monitor OHS across Corrections.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate day-to-day safety support across locations to deliver a safe workplace.
