Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is sourcing a Safety Advisor to provide immediate coverage on a busy mining site in Moranbah, QLD. This is a three-month temporary assignment with potential to extend, working closely with production and maintenance teams to deliver practical safety support, investigations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Around two years’ experience in a Safety Advisor or similar site-based role.
• Experience in mining, resources, heavy industry or similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of incident investigations and timeline development.
• Experience supporting injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Confident engaging with production and maintenance teams in the field.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day safety advice and support across site operations.

About the role

A leading mining contractor is seeking a capable Safety Advisor to provide immediate coverage across a busy site operation.

This is an initial three-month temporary assignment with the potential to extend. Working closely with production and maintenance teams, you will provide practical safety support across field activities, injury management, investigations and operational reporting.

This is an advisor-level position suited to someone with approximately two years of relevant experience who is comfortable working in the field and engaging directly with operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day safety advice and support across site operations
• Build effective working relationships with production and maintenance personnel
• Conduct regular field interactions, observations and safety conversations
• Support workplace investigations and assist with preparing accurate timelines
• Coordinate injury management activities and support return-to-work processes
• Maintain safety records, documentation and reporting requirements
• Work across client and contractor safety management systems
• Use SharePoint and other computer-based systems to manage safety information
• Promote compliance with site procedures and relevant safety requirements

About you

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Approximately two years’ experience in a Safety Advisor or similar site-based role
• Previous experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or a comparable operational environment
• Working knowledge of incident investigations and timeline development
• Experience supporting injury management and return-to-work processes
• Confidence engaging with production and maintenance teams in the field
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Good computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Previous experience using SharePoint
• Exposure to BMA and SIS systems would be highly regarded
• Availability to commence within two weeks
