Job summary

A leading integrated services provider in Australia is seeking a Safety Advisor to support, coach, and mentor internal stakeholders across Queensland Transport & Infrastructure operations. This dynamic role based at Brisbane Airport combines site-based and office work, focusing on fostering collaboration and achieving safety objectives. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate 4 in Work Health and Safety and has experience in civil road maintenance or construction. Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate 4 in Work Health and Safety is required.
• Experience in civil road maintenance or construction is preferred.
• ICAM Lead Incident Investigation qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support and coach internal stakeholders in Safety objectives.
• Conduct audits and prepare corrective actions and reports.
• Participate in high level incident investigations.

Downer is looking for an enthusiastic Safety Advisor to actively support, coach, mentor and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders across our Queensland Transport & Infrastructure operations. Based out of Brisbane Airport, this dynamic role offers a blend of site‑based and office exposure, with a strong focus on fostering collaboration to achieve our Safety objectives, while also contributing to business innovation.

What you’ll bring

• Certificate 4 Work Health and Safety minimum.
• Exposure to civil road maintenance or construction (desirable).
• ICAM Lead Incident Investigation (desirable).
• Experience conducting audits and preparation of corrective actions and reports.
• Participated in high level incident investigations.
• Flexible with working night shift when required.
• Ability to positively influence change and communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders.
• High level of problem solving with the ability to professionally navigate complex situations.
• Strong computer and data analysis skills that extend to report collation and presentation.
