Downer is seeking a Zero Harm Coordinator to support its Water division in South East Queensland. This developmental role offers exposure to regional safety governance, learning programs and improvement initiatives across major infrastructure programs.

You will work with regional teams, safety leads and client partners to strengthen safety culture, drive data-informed decisions and help deliver practical safety solutions while building a path toward Zero Harm Advisor opportunities.

  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and standardise tools.
  • Providing regional support to operational teams with practical safety solutions.
  • Partnering with project teams to strengthen safety outcomes and performance.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Zero Harm Coordinator to join our Energy and Utilities business supporting our Water division in the SEQ region. This is a developmental role designed to build capability and provide a pathway into future Zero Harm Advisor positions.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Zero Harm Coordinator to join Downer's Water business in South East Queensland. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging safety professional to work alongside experienced Zero Harm leaders across some of Queensland's largest water infrastructure programs, supporting clients including Urban Utilities and Logan Water Partnership. The role is focused on regional systems, governance and operational enablement, helping to strengthen consistency, efficiency and safety performance across multiple programs. Working closely with Program Safety Leads and operational teams, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support regional safety systems and reporting, coordinate learning and assurance activities, and help drive a strong and positive safety culture. For the right candidate, this role provides a clear pathway into future Zero Harm Advisor opportunities while developing practical experience in safety leadership, systems improvement, governance, data analytics and project delivery.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Working regularly from our Qantas Drive regional office, and Logan Water and Urban Utilities client offices in the region.
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Downer's HSE systems and processes across the SEQ Water portfolio.
  • Coordinating regional safety programs, initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Supporting learning teams, workshops, inductions and capability-building activities.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the quality and integrity of training, competency and compliance systems.
  • Assisting with assurance activities including audits, inspections and governance reviews.
  • Analysing safety performance data and preparing reports and insights that support informed decision making.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, standardise tools and improve ways of working.
  • Providing regional support to operational teams and helping deliver practical safety solutions.
  • Partnering with project teams and stakeholders to strengthen safety outcomes and operational performance.
  • Supporting field HSE Advisor teams, in the field on Adhoc basis.
