Job summary

Australian Electoral Commission is seeking a Release Train Engineer to lead a large-scale transformation program. The role requires SAFe expertise, strong governance, and extensive experience in regulated environments. Hybrid Canberra-based work with potential remote onboarding and interstate consideration.

The incumbent will coordinate cross-team release trains, manage dependencies, and ensure alignment with policy, legislation and technology delivery. Active NV1 clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years leading large-scale government transformation programs.
• Experience in SAFe or similar scaled agile delivery.
• Experience in Business Design and Systems Implementation.
• Experience in highly regulated government environments.
• Strong executive stakeholder management.
• Experience facilitating Program Increment Planning.
• Understanding of program and portfolio management disciplines.
• Active AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate delivery of a large-scale government transformation program in a SAFe environment.
• Partner to align release trains, manage cross-program dependencies and planning.
• Coordinate multiple releases, multidisciplinary teams and regulatory initiatives.
• Promote alignment, transparency and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Support planning, delivery reporting and informed decision-making.
• Ensure legislative/regulatory outcomes and technology solutions align with policy goals.
• Manage cross-stream dependencies, risks and delivery challenges.
• Support Program Increment planning and execution.
• Ensure program increments deliver outcomes with governance and enterprise architecture standards.
• Serve as central integration point across policy, legal, regulatory and ICT stakeholders.
