Job summary

Viking Rentals in Adelaide is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the South Australian operations, including the driver team, fleet of portable toilets and trucks. The role blends people management with practical tasks, from loading and unloading toilets to performing minor fixes.

You will ensure adequate drivers and inventory, coordinate with head office on recruitment and training, and maintain a smoothly run yard in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations and team management.
• Hands-on, practical approach and willingness to do the job alongside the team.
• Strong people management and supervision of drivers.
• Good organisational skills and ability to plan ahead.
• Mechanical minded or willingness to learn basic maintenance.
• Comfortable with outdoor, physical role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SA operations and day-to-day yard operations.
• Ensure driver numbers match truck requirements.
• Ensure toilets are fixed and cleaned for delivery.
• Manage stock levels of chemicals, toilet paper and consumables.
• Coordinate driver recruitment with head office.
• Conduct driver interviews and manage selection.
• Oversee driver recruitment and training.
• Manage drivers at start of day and resolve issues.
• Be the first contact for drivers throughout the day.
• Provide hands-on support loading/unloading toilets.
• Jump in a truck when short-staffed; fix and clean toilets; keep trucks clean.
