Job summary

Viva Energy Retail in South Australia is seeking an experienced Capability Specialist to uplift store capability across the OTR and Reddy Express networks on a fixed-term contract of up to two years. You will coach Store Managers and field leaders, embedding practical training practices and a Store Manager–led model to sustain capability and high standards in operations across South Australia.

• Support rollout of new training programs and business change projects across SA.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands on CapabilitySpecialist to join our Operations Training & Capability team on a fixed-term contract of up to two years. Reporting to the Operations Training & Design Lead, this role will play a critical part in uplifting store capability across South Australia by supporting the transition from a centrally delivered training model to a Store Manager-led capability model.

Working closely with Store Managers and field leaders across OTR and Reddy Express stores, you will coach, develop and embed sustainable training practices that build long-term capability and confidence across our network.

You Will Provide:

• Hands-on capability support to OTR and Reddy Express stores across South Australia.
• Coaching and development for Store Managers to confidently own and deliver training within their stores.
• Practical support to field leaders and store teams as they transition to a Store Manager-led training model.
• Guidance on embedding training tools, routines and operational standards that drive long-term capability ownership.
• Consistent delivery of training aligned to Viva Energy Retail's Operations Training framework and design standards.
• Identification and resolution of local capability gaps and training delivery risks through targeted field support.
• Valuable field insights and feedback to strengthen training design, capability initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Support for the rollout of new training programs, operational initiatives and business change projects across South Australia.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in training delivery, capability building, coaching, learning and development, or retail/store operations.
• Strong facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and develop leaders at all levels.
• Proven experience supporting operational teams through change and capability uplift initiatives.
• A practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• Strong understanding of retail, convenience, QSR, fuel or other fast‑paced operational environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout South Australia.
• Qualifications in Training & Assessment, Adult Learning, Coaching or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Experience within OTR, Reddy Express or similar multi‑site retail networks is advantageous.
