Job summary

Viva Energy Retail is seeking a Site Standards Project Lead to develop and implement a unified Retail Standards framework across Viva Energy Retail brands, with readiness gates and handover processes for stores and new formats.

You will work with field leaders and support teams to identify gaps, ensure standards are practical and auditable, and embed them into BAU with clear ownership and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail operations and standards development.
• Experience developing or implementing procedures, checklists, playbooks or operating frameworks.
• Strong project delivery, planning and stakeholder engagement.
• Understanding frontline retail operations and store execution requirements.
• Clear, user-friendly standards documentation.
• Experience in multi-site retail or franchise environments (desirable).

Job Description

Reporting to the Compliance & Standards Manager, the Site Standards Project Lead is a 12-month fixed-term role responsible for supporting the development of consistent Retail Standards and establishing a new joint readiness process across all Viva Energy Retail brands. The role will work closely with key support functions to develop practical standards, readiness gates, checklists and handover processes.

This role is open to candidates in Adelaide or Melbourne.

You will provide:

• Support the development and implementation of a consistent Retail Standards framework across Viva Energy Retail brands.
• Develop practical, clear and auditable standards covering store execution, compliance, customer experience and operational readiness.
• Establish readiness gates, checklists, sign-off requirements and handover processes for new builds, conversions and format changes.
• Support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and implementation across stores and support functions.
• Engage with field leaders and support teams to identify gaps, resolve practical issues and ensure standards are fit for purpose.
• Capture lessons learned and continuously improve the standards, readiness and assurance processes.
• Embed the new standards and readiness processes into business-as-usual operations, with clear ownership and governance.

Qualifications

About You

• Demonstrated experience in retail operations, operational excellence, standards development, compliance, audit or process improvement.
• Experience developing or implementing operational standards, procedures, checklists, playbooks or operating frameworks.
• Strong project delivery skills, including planning, stakeholder engagement, milestone tracking and issue management.
• Strong understanding of frontline retail operations and the practical requirements for consistent store execution.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear, practical and user-friendly standards documentation.
• Experience within a multi-site retail, convenience, franchise or customer-facing operational environment will be highly regarded.
• Experience supporting audit, assurance, compliance or store readiness frameworks, or working across multiple brands, formats or operating models, will be desirable.
