Job summary

Rural Financial Counselling Service North Queensland invites applications for an Industry Recovery and Resilience Officer to assist primary producers affected by disasters, promote recovery initiatives, and work with stakeholders to enhance enterprise productivity and community resilience.

The role focuses on providing grants/referral support, coordinating community events, and developing on-farm resilience plans, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with government and industry networks

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of primary production systems within Far North and North West Qld.
• Demonstrated knowledge of natural disaster impacts, recovery, and mitigation for primary production.
• Empathetic understanding of community networks, local government, commodity and industry networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide referral pathways to grants, loans and support services for primary producers.
• Promote Community Event Fund and collaborate with local government and community groups to support events.
• Identify impacted areas and deliver workshops to meet producer needs.
• Develop industry-specific on-farm resilience plans and link to technical advice.
• Provide regular reporting to Government on engagement, need and outreach.
• Coordinate workshop material with DPI and Farm Business Resilience projects.
