Job summary

NSW Health in Bega is recruiting a Health and Security Assistant for the Southern NSW Local Health District. The role supports patient care, security, and ward operations in a rural hospital setting.

The position is permanent part-time (24 hours per week) with hourly remuneration around the NSW pay scale, and requires a NSW Security licence and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain them within three months. Applications close 22 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Security licence (Class 1A) or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Current Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Ability to provide person-centred care in a health care environment.
• Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Physical capacity to perform duties including lifting and transferring patients.

Responsibilities

• Support wards and transport patients within the facility.
• Undertake cleaning duties and maintain safety protocols.
• Perform security duties as required under clinical direction.
• Work in a 24/7 roster as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
