Job summary

Saddles Mount White is seeking a practical Grounds & General Hand to join our team at our newly opened boutique hotel in Mount White. This hands-on role combines groundskeeping, property maintenance and general operations, with a focus on keeping the rural property at its best.

You will work independently with a variety of tasks—from irrigation and pump systems to outdoor equipment, repairs and ongoing maintenance—ensuring our grounds, gardens and facilities present an exceptional standard for

Qualifications

Previous experience maintaining rural properties, estates, farms or large grounds.
Practical knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps and generators.
Sound general maintenance, handyman and repair skills.
Understanding of groundskeeping, landscaping and outdoor equipment.
Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.

Responsibilities

Undertake general property and building maintenance.
Support landscaping with maintaining hotel grounds, gardens, lawns and landscaped areas.
Understand irrigation systems, pumps, sewer and generators.
Monitor water systems and rural property infrastructure.
Carry out preventative maintenance and identify issues early.
Assist with repairs, equipment upkeep and handyman duties.
Ensure outdoor areas and facilities are presented to an exceptional standard.
Escalate and engage contractors when required.
