Job summary

Saddles Mount White is seeking a practical Grounds & General Hand to join our team at the Mount White boutique hotel. This hands-on role covers groundskeeping, property maintenance, and general operational upkeep to ensure our rural property looks and operates at its best.

You will work independently on a variety of tasks, supporting the landscaping contractor and maintaining irrigation, pumps, and generators.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining rural properties, estates, farms or large grounds.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps and generators.
• General maintenance and repair skills; able to troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general property and building maintenance.
• Support landscaping contractor with grounds and gardens.
• Understand irrigation systems, pumps, sewer and generators.
• Monitor water systems and property infrastructure.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and identify issues early.
• Assist with repairs and equipment upkeep.
• Ensure outdoor areas are presented to a high standard.

We are seeking an experienced Grounds & General Hand to join our team at our newly opened boutique hotel in Mount White. Set within a beautiful rural environment, this is an opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working independently and keeping a property looking and operating at its very best.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, varied position combining groundskeeping, property maintenance and general operational upkeep. You will play an important role in ensuring the hotel's grounds, gardens, infrastructure and facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake general property and building maintenance.

• Support the Landscaping contractor with maintaining hotel grounds, gardens, lawns and landscaped areas.

• Understanding of irrigation systems, pumps, sewer and generators.

• Monitor water systems and rural property infrastructure.

• Carry out preventative maintenance and identify potential issues before they arise.

• Assist with repairs, equipment upkeep and general handyman duties.

• Ensure outdoor areas and facilities are presented to an exceptional standard.

• Escalate and engage contractors where required.

About You

You are a capable, resourceful and reliable person who enjoys getting stuck in and can turn your hand to a wide range of practical tasks.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous experience maintaining rural properties, estates, farms or large grounds.

• Practical knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps and generators.

• Sound general maintenance, handyman and repair skills.

• A good understanding of groundskeeping, landscaping and outdoor equipment.

• The ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot and take initiative.

• A proactive attitude and pride in maintaining a beautiful property.
