Job summary

Robinvale District Health Services in north-west Victoria is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to lead education, professional development and clinical governance across the rural health service. You will design and evaluate education programs, mentor staff, coordinate placements, support competency assessment, and drive evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

A postgraduate qualification and AHPRA registration are preferred; the organization offers a collaborative team environment

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Substantial clinical nursing experience with contemporary practice knowledge.
• Experience in clinical education, staff development, mentoring or competency assessment.
• Postgraduate qualification in clinical education, nursing or relevant discipline, or willingness to undertake further study.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage, motivate and support staff with varying levels of clinical experience.
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and multiple clinical settings.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace learning culture.
• Experience in rural healthcare, acute care, aged care or urgent care settings will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and deliver clinical education and professional development programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Support orientation, induction and competency assessment of new and existing nursing staff.
• Identify learning needs and implement targeted education initiatives.
• Provide clinical coaching, mentoring and support to staff, graduates and students.
• Coordinate and monitor mandatory clinical training and competency requirements.
• Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety and continuous improvement in clinical care.
• Support implementation of new policies, procedures, guidelines and best-practice standards.
• Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers and clinical leaders to strengthen workforce capability.
• Assist with student clinical placements and graduate nurse development programs.
• Contribute to clinical governance, accreditation readiness and compliance with standards.
