Job summary

Orchard Early Learning in Ryde, NSW invites a passionate Room Leader to guide a dedicated team within a warm, learning-focused environment. You will lead high-quality, child-led experiences and model best practice for educators while building strong relationships with families and children.

Qualifications

• ACECQA-approved Diploma required.
• Working With Children Check required.
• First Aid/CPR/Asthma & Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).

About the Role

As a Room Leader, you’ll take the lead in creating a warm, engaging and high-quality learning environment where children and educators can thrive.

You’ll work closely with your team to deliver meaningful learning experiences, support strong educational practice and build genuine relationships with children and families.

Most importantly, you’ll be a positive role model who helps your team feel supported, confident and inspired.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leadership & Team Support

• Lead and support educators within your room
• Mentor your team and model positive, high-quality practice
• Create a collaborative, supportive and welcoming room culture
• Support educators to grow their confidence and skills

Learning & Pedagogy

• Lead engaging, child-led and play-based learning experiences
• Support planning, observations, documentation and critical reflection
• Embed EYLF V2.0 and the Shared Foundations Approach into everyday practice
• Create inspiring environments that encourage curiosity, exploration and FUN

Children & Families

• Build warm and meaningful relationships with children
• Develop genuine partnerships with families
• Support each child’s individual interests, strengths and developmental needs
• Create an inclusive environment where every child feels safe and valued

Quality & Child Safety

• Maintain a safe and compliant learning environment
• Support strong practice across the NQF and NQS
• Champion child safety, supervision and wellbeing
• Contribute to continuous improvement and Assessment & Rating readiness

What You’ll Bring

• ACECQA-approved Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Previous Room Leader or senior educator experience is highly regarded
• Strong understanding of EYLF V2.0, NQS and NQF
• Confidence leading, mentoring and supporting a team
• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
• A positive attitude and genuine passion for early childhood education
• Plenty of heart, enthusiasm and a love of making learning fun!
