Job summary

Thrive Early Learning Centres is seeking a Room Leader to oversee daily operations of the room, set educational standards, and guide a team while building strong relationships with families. You will ensure the room is safe, well-organised, and prepared for Assessment and Rating under the Learning for Life Curriculum.

You will lead planning, observation, and documentation across the room, champion child safety, and mentor educators and trainees.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved).
• Current Working with Children Check for Victoria.
• Current First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF, NQS and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of educational programs guided by the EYLF and L4L Curriculum.
• Monitor and support the quality of observations, documentation and planning.
• Champion child safety and mandatory reporting obligations.
• Ensure room compliance with National Law, Regulations and Thrive policies.
• Support the Quality Framework and centre's Quality Improvement Plan.

About the role

As a Room Leader you lead the day to day running of your room. You set the standard for educational practice, guide your team, build strong relationships with families, and make sure your room is safe, well organised and ready for anything, including Assessment and Rating.

What you will do

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of educational programs guided by the Learning for Life Curriculum, the Early Years Learning Framework and children's interests
• Monitor and support the quality of observations, documentation and planning across your room
• Champion child safety, maintain strong knowledge of child protection and mandatory reporting obligations, and respond appropriately to any concern
• Ensure room practice complies with the Education and Care Services National Law, the National Regulations, the National Quality Standard and Thrive policies
• Support the Thrive Quality Framework and your centre's Quality Improvement Plan, and keep the room ready for Assessment and Rating
• Coach and support educators, trainees and students, and help new team members settle in
• Keep families informed and respond to feedback professionally
• Make sure observations, documentation and compliance records are accurate and on time

What you will bring

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, ACECQA approved
• Current Working with Children Check for the state the role is based in
• Current First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework and the regulations
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding requirements
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor team members
• Nice to have
• Previous experience in a Room Leader or senior educator role
• Experience using digital documentation platforms
