Job summary

Fast Automation Pty Ltd in Sydney, NSW, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to design, prototyping and commissioning of automated manufacturing systems, bespoke machinery, robotics, and vision/inspection solutions. You will work on turnkey projects and collaborate with a vibrant team.

The role requires a engineering degree, at least 2 years in mechanical design, and hands-on experience with SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical design.
• Experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred.
• Experience with bespoke machinery, mechanisms or robotics preferred.
• Experience with pneumatic and electrical actuation, design of mechanisms and structures, and design for manufacture.
• Adept in SolidWorks modelling and drawings for fabrication.
• Proven ability to work independently and with others in a team.
• Self-motivated with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving.
• Self-development drive and keen to learn about new technology.

Mechanical Design Engineer Fast Automation Pty Ltd

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in the design, prototyping, and commissioning of automated manufacturing systems, automation resources and turnkey systems such as bespoke machinery, robot and cobot solutions, autonomous mobile robots, process control systems, conveyor and shuttle systems, vision and inspection systems, automation contracting, and IOT 4.0 solutions.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical design
• Experience in automation or manufacturing industry preferred
• Experience with bespoke machinery, mechanisms or robotics preferred
• Experience with pneumatic and electrical actuation, design of mechanisms and structures, and design for manufacture
