About the role
We are recruiting Robotics Deployment Engineers for a global robotics and e-commerce fulfilment client.
You will join a robotics deployment team that includes a project manager, a technical lead engineer and other deployment engineers. The team installs robotic storage systems from an empty building shell through to handover of a working robotics floor to the operations team.
Key responsibilities
Take ownership of one or more areas of the deployment, such as the safety fence, floor safety systems or storage pod construction
Manage third-party contractors responsible for physical installation and configuration, monitoring their progress and helping to resolve problems on site
Report daily to the project manager and elevate issues as required
Track progress against project targets
Skills and experience
Basic understanding of computer networking, including changing network configuration on Windows/Linux, PC-switch-drive connections, checking connectivity and basic troubleshooting
Basic understanding of the Linux environment, including running Unix/Linux commands, basic scripting and command line troubleshooting
Strong IT skills and command line operation
Ability to interpret CAD drawings, composite designs or electrical layouts
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical or construction engineering
Personal attributes
Well organised and a self-starter
Willing to learn and develop new skills, with the ability to pick things up quickly
Able to work effectively with other teams on and off site, including vendors and project management
Comfortable working under pressure and taking ownership of assigned areas
Strong problem-solving skills
Working conditions
8 hours per day, typically 8am to 5pm
Some weeks may require work during maintenance windows (4am to 8am)
