Job summary

Clarence City Council in Tasmania is seeking a Civil Engineer to scope, plan and manage routine road and transport infrastructure projects. You will deliver projects from planning through to completion, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to achieve practical community outcomes.

You’ll bring a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or 3+ years in traffic/roads/asset management, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or 3+ years’ relevant experience in traffic/roads/asset management.
• Demonstrated road asset management and project delivery experience.
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder relation skills.
• Data-driven, adaptable, and capable of handling competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Scope, plan and deliver road and transport infrastructure projects in accordance with Council’s Roads Asset Management Plan and Capital Works Program.
• Undertake project management activities across the project lifecycle, managing routine road and transport projects from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate workflows and work closely with contractors, project managers and internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery and quality outcomes.
• Maintain accurate asset data and support future project prioritisation.
• Provide advice on civil engineering, roads and transport engineering matters, particularly in relation to project scoping, design and project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing technical expertise, collaborating across teams and supporting improvements to processes, standards and ways of working.
