Job summary

Clarence City Council is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to manage road and transport assets, assess renewal needs and prioritise projects. You will provide technical advice, support planning decisions and deliver targeted renewal works across the road network.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and relevant experience in road asset management, with strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with customers, contractors and agencies.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent is required.
• Experience in road asset management and civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong data analysis and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support road infrastructure renewal programs through asset assessment, technical evaluation, project scoping and strategic planning.
• Use asset condition and performance data to identify renewal priorities, inform investment decisions and support delivery of Council’s road and transport program.
• Provide engineering and asset management advice, including feasibility assessments, project designs, technical reports and recommendations.
• Investigate customer requests and road, transport, traffic and parking matters, undertaking inspections and providing practical engineering advice and recommendations.
• Support external funding applications and manage associated reporting and funding requirements.
• Undertake project management activities across the project lifecycle and, where assigned, manage routine road and transport projects from planning through to completion.
