Job summary

Ventia seeks a Works Supervisor based in Maryborough to lead our SRU delivery teams and subcontractors in network maintenance and incident response. You will coordinate resources, drive safe, high‑quality operations and ensure outcomes meet required standards.

This hands‑on leadership role emphasises a proactive HSEQ culture, effective stakeholder management, and building a high‑performing team, with after‑hours on-call responsibilities and ongoing career development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in road maintenance and network management.
• White Card and current Driver’s Licence required.
• Strong knowledge of road maintenance, pavement and asphalt.
• Proven ability to deliver safety, quality, environmental and operational outcomes.
• Experience leading maintenance works, materials, resources and programs.
• Experience leading operational teams on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of client requirements, contracts and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to implement compliant processes and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational teams to deliver maintenance safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
• Plan, coordinate and manage routine and periodic maintenance activities, resources, assets, personnel, subcontractors and incident response teams.
• Monitor and review the Maintenance Management Plan, asset performance, productivity, resource utilisation and costs, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Manage maintenance personnel, inspectors and contractors, ensuring appropriate training, inductions and compliance with company procedures and standards.
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety and environmental legislation, including safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor and report on technical, maintenance, system and productivity performance, including asset records.
• Build positive employee relations and escalate concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Coordinate emergency response support to authorities for road network incidents.
• Plan and schedule team activities to meet timelines and project outputs.
• Manage subcontractor selection and performance, including environmental controls.
• Conduct cost/value analysis and monitor efficiency to optimise resources.
