Job summary

Transport For NSW is seeking a Road Worker - Concrete Finisher to join our Gundagai team. This permanent full-time role focuses on concreting, road pavement and related civil works, with safety and quality as top priorities.

You’ll contribute to regional projects and work alongside a committed team to deliver durable road infrastructure for NSW communities. You’ll perform labouring and concreting tasks, may travel or camp away from home, and must reside within 50 km of the depot.

Qualifications

• Reliable team player with a focus on safety and quality.
• Experience in concrete finishing works.
• Willing to travel and work across the region on civil construction projects.
• Must have a valid Driver Licence and White Card on application.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team delivering concreting, road pavement and associated civil construction works across the region with safety and teamwork in focus.
• Undertake labouring and concreting tasks, including construction and maintenance of road pavements and drainage structures.
• Travel and camping away from home may be required; reside within 50 km travelling distance of the depot and be available for after-hours callouts.

In this role, you'll:

• Work as part of a team delivering concreting, road pavement and associated civil construction works across the region while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
• You’ll undertake a variety of labouring and concreting activities, including the construction and maintenance of road pavements, drainage structures and associated civil works.
• Travel and camping away from home may be required. You will also be on call, so it is a requirement that you reside close to the depot (within 50 km travelling distance).

About you

• You’re a reliable team player who puts safety of yourself and team first. You have a keen eye for detail and experience in concrete finishing works.
• You communicate well and enjoy manual, hands on tasks to support the construction and maintenance of roads as part of a team.
• You’re practical, adaptable and enjoy learning quickly on the job.
• You’re also confident operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.
• You must possess a validDriver LicenceandWhite Card on application.
• You will be required to work outside normal working hours and attend after hour’s callouts.
• You will be prepared to travel throughout the region when required which will be time away from home.
• Whilst not essential, if you have a truck licence or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer this would be highly desirable.
