Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Road Worker Grade 3 to safely operate road rollers and support maintenance across Narrandera and regional NSW. You’ll perform pre-start checks, use hand tools, and work as part of a team to deliver planned road infrastructure outcomes.

You will hold a White Card, a Class C licence (Provisional P1 acceptable) and be flexible for weekend work and periods away from home. A commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in road maintenance or civil construction.
• Current Construction Industry White Card.
• Australian Class C driver's licence with Provisional P1 acceptable.
• Willingness to undertake licensing/ticketing requirements.
• Ability to complete work records and communicate with the team.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality outcomes.
• Willingness to work across Narrandera and regional NSW, including weekends and away-from-home periods.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

• Safely operate road rollers to support the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure.
• Undertake road maintenance activities, manual handling and a range of Road Worker Grade 3 duties as required.
• Use small plant, powered and non-powered hand tools safely and effectively.
• Complete pre-start and safety checks, basic plant maintenance, refuelling, fluid checks and required records.
• Follow work health and safety, environmental and quality procedures to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standard.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to deliver planned maintenance outcomes.
• Identify and report hazards, resolve routine issues and escal

About you

• Relevant experience in road maintenance, civil construction or a Road Worker Grade 3 role, with roller operating experience highly regarded.
• A current Construction Industry White Card.
• A current Australian motor vehicle driver licence (Class C), with a minimum of a Provisional P1 licence.
• Willingness to undertake any required licensing or ticketing requirements.
• Ability to use literacy and numeracy skills to complete work records and communicate effectively with the work team.
• A strong commitment to safe work practices, teamwork and delivering quality outcomes.
• Flexibility to work across Narrandera and various locations throughout regional NSW, including weekend work and periods living away from home, as required.
