Job summary

Transport For NSW in Ulladulla, NSW is hiring an experienced Road Worker to join our Maintenance Crew. The role involves outdoor manual labour, road maintenance, and use of hand tools and equipment in Bomaderry or Ulladulla locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform road maintenance and manual labour tasks using hand tools and equipment

• Assist with widening, barrier installs, pavement works and patching
• Coordinate with Team Leaders and Supervisors to manage daily tasks
• Adhere to WHS policies and safe work procedures
• Occasionally camp away from home and respond to after-hours calls

In this role, you'll:

• Be an experienced Road Worker in a civil or construction environment and join our Maintenance Crew in either Bomaderry or Ulladulla NSW as we have multiple opportunities in each location
• Perform road maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools
• Road maintenance activities may include, but not not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works
• Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
• Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
• On occasion camp away from home and regularly attend after hours call outs and incidents when required

We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.

You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.

You must hold the following qualifications:

• Traffic Controller Card – Implement Traffic Control Plan
• Traffic Controller Card – Prepare Work Zone
• Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed

You must have previous experience as a Road Worker or related civil construction experience.

We take WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100km radius of either the Bomaderry or Ulladulla works depot.
