Job summary

CANDII is seeking a Leading Hand Road Transport Mechanic in Kalgoorlie to lead a busy workshop and keep a modern fleet on the road. The role is hands-on, with day shifts, Monday to Friday, and a salary of $180,000 plus long-term security.

You'll supervise a team of tradespeople, manage service records, and contribute to safety and productivity in a growing WA maintenance operation. A trade qualification and local relocation are preferred for stability and growth.

About Our Client

Our client is the maintenance arm of an established WA waste, recycling and resources group, with workshops and offices in Kalgoorlie, Leonora, Geraldton and Perth. The maintenance team has grown from one person to about 30 tradespeople, with 14 hired this year alone. Kalgoorlie is its home base, and more work is on the way, so this is a role where you can build a long-term career.

The Role

As Leading Hand, you'll be the go-to technical person in the Kalgoorlie workshop. You'll keep the fleet running safely while supporting the team around you. It's a hands-on role: you'll stay on the tools, and you'll also help set the standard for quality, safety and productivity.

About You

You're an experienced, trade-qualified heavy vehicle mechanic who's ready to lead, or who already has leading hand experience. You know road transport fleets inside out, take pride in a quality job, and want a stable local role where your experience is valued.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in heavy vehicle or road transport mechanics
• 5+ years' post-trade experience preferred
• Leading hand or supervisory experience highly regarded
• Based in Kalgoorlie, or willing to relocate there
• Driver’s licence (an HR or MC licence is desirable)
• Clear National Police Clearance
• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing
