Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a capable plant operator to support regional road maintenance. You will operate rollers, loader and other plant equipment, perform pre-start checks, and help deliver safe, high-quality road infrastructure.

The role is based in regional NSW with a camp-away roster; most work from Monday to Friday, with an RDO every fortnight. Flexibility outside hours is essential, and you will work with a safety‑focused team.

Qualifications

• Construction Industry White Card required.
• Australian Class C licence (Provisional P1) required.
• MR/HR licence desirable or willing to obtain within 3 months.
• Traffic Controller Card or willing to obtain within 3 months.
• Work Zone Traffic Management qualification or willing to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment (rollers, loader, mixer) to support road construction and maintenance.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and basic plant maintenance.
• Perform traffic management tasks and manual handling as required.
• Complete work records accurately and maintain documentation.
• Work in a camp-away arrangement with a fortnightly RDO, Monday–Friday schedule.

Education

Construction Industry White Card

Australian Driver's Licence Class C (P1)

Heavy Vehicle MR/HR licence desirable or willing to obtain within 3 months

Traffic Controller Card or willing to obtain within 3 months

Work Zone Traffic Management qualification or willing to obtain within 3 months
