Job summary

Gympie Regional Council is seeking a hands-on Team Member Road Maintenance for a fixed-term of approximately seven months to support the delivery of essential road infrastructure. You will operate heavy vehicles and plant, assist with drainage and earthworks, and work across crews to maintain the council's road network to a high standard.

This role offers a competitive annual salary from AU$75,342 plus up to 15% superannuation, a range of benefits including health programs, salary sacrifice

Qualifications

• The role requires hands-on experience operating road maintenance equipment and heavy vehicles.
• Experience in civil construction tasks such as earthworks and drainage is preferred.
• Current safety certifications and the ability to work outdoors are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy vehicles, plant and equipment safely to support road maintenance.
• Undertake general labouring and civil construction tasks as required.
• Support road grading, drainage, asphalt and pothole repairs as part of a team.
• Respond to community requests and complete work with a customer-focused approach.
• Utilise digital tools and mobile devices for field reporting and communication.
• Identify hazards and follow safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
• Collaborate across crews and locations, and work independently when needed.
• Contribute ideas to improve work practices and service delivery.
