Job summary

Banana Shire Council is seeking a skilled grader operator to efficiently run a grader for road maintenance and construction projects. You will support work teams with vehicle operation, maintain plant equipment daily, and ensure adherence to procedures and plans.

The role requires experience with heavy vehicles, strong teamwork, and a commitment to WHS. Weekend work and physical demands may apply as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy vehicles in maintenance or construction environments.
• Good literacy, numeracy, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate grader to meet standards on maintenance and construction projects.
• Provide high quality vehicle operation services to work teams.
• Maintain and service plant daily per procedures.
• Read and interpret basic plans and instructions; implement traffic management plans when required.
• Report plant defects and participate in training and disaster management as required.
