Job summary

Banana Shire Council is seeking a capable front-end loader operator to support maintenance and construction projects across the shire. The role requires practical experience with heavy plant, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to read simple plans.

You will service and operate plant daily, keep records, and assist with traffic control when required. A class C licence and White/Blue Card are compulsory, with several tickets and a team-oriented approach highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Hold a Queensland Class 'C' manual driver's licence.
• Qld General Safety Induction - White or Blue Card.
• Civil Construction - Front End Loader (LL) Competency.
• Traffic Management Plan Competency (Desirable).
• Traffic Controller Competency (Desirable).
• Other Plant Operator Tickets (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader to meet standards on maintenance and construction projects.
• Maintain and service plant and equipment daily per procedures.
• Carry out general labouring duties as required.
• Read and interpret basic plans and instructions.
• Undertake traffic control and implement traffic control plans as required.
• Complete administrative records like timesheets.
• Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external customers.
• Assist senior staff to improve work processes and develop new practices.
• Participate in training and disaster management activities.
