Job summary

Banana Shire Council is seeking an experienced Grader Operator to efficiently operate a grader on maintenance and road construction projects, ensuring high standards and safety. You will maintain and service plant, support other machinery, and perform general labouring tasks as required.

This role requires a current Qld Class C manual driver’s licence and a White/Blue Card, with HR licence and ITMP desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy vehicles in maintenance/construction environments.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of WHS and EEO principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate grader to required standards on road works.
• Maintain and service plant daily per procedures.
• Carry out general labouring tasks as required.
• Read basic plans and instructions.
• Undertake traffic control and traffic control plans as required.
• Maintain daily diary of plant movements.
• Liaise with staff and clients to improve practices.
