Job summary

Inner West Council (IWC) invites applications for the Student/Graduate Engineer (Road Access). You will support management of works in the public domain, assess permits and traffic proposals, and help protect road and stormwater infrastructure.

Ideal for a student nearing graduation or a recent graduate, the role offers exposure to infrastructure management and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient outcomes for Inner West's public network.

Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor or Post-Graduate) in civil engineering, project management or related field.
• Strong customer service ethic and attention to detail.
• Strategic thinking with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with common computer programs (spreadsheets, databases, graphics, word processing).
• Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support management of works in public domain and protection of road, footpath, cycling and stormwater infrastructure.
• Assist in assessment of permits, designs and traffic management proposals.
• Collaborate with Council teams, contractors, developers and community to deliver safe, well-managed outcomes.
