Job summary

GV Health is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Planned Surgery Access Unit in Regional Victoria. The role focuses on assessing and booking patients on the planned surgery list, aligning with policy guidelines and ensuring timely theatre sessions.

You will work within a team to deliver high-quality pre-admission education and documentation, supporting elective services and clinical effectiveness across GV Health.

Qualifications

• Qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration.
• Classification: Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2–YP9).

Responsibilities

• Adherence to the Planned Surgery Access Policy and Elective Surgery Information System guidelines.
• Achieve key performance indicators for elective surgery.
• Book theatre/treatment room sessions and notify variances to relevant parties.
• Allocate and educate patients in pre-admission clinics.
• Provide written/oral updates at each stage of the pre-admission journey and document in elective booklets.
• Manage not-ready-for-care patients and ensure timely follow-up.
